Radio Active is an urban community radio station catering to diverse and heterogeneous groups in Bengaluru and it is licensed to Jain University. Launched in 2007, Radio Active works on a range of issues including social inclusion, good governance, and policy advocacy through dialoguing to support collective problem-solving and promote community cohesion. In the following audio, team Radio Active shares how social media has been a great and interesting platform for sharing programme content and initiatives related to Coronavirus (COVID-19) during the lockdown period. The station reached out to experts, prepared jingles, posters, and special COVID-19 sessions and broadcast these using social media platforms. Radio Active’s listeners community is located in the urban areas. Considering that aspect Radio Active successfully exploited social media prospects during the COVID-19 pandemic.
